Roomle and VividWorks alternatives: a wardrobe configurator for workshops

Closetforge is a white-label 3D wardrobe configurator and quoting tool for fitted-wardrobe makers. Roomle, with its Rubens platform, and VividWorks are 3D configurator platforms for furniture manufacturers and brands, with published monthly plans. We make Closetforge, so this comparison is written by an interested party; every Roomle and VividWorks fact below is taken from their own pages, linked and dated.
Roomle and VividWorks are two of the few configurator platforms that print their prices, which makes them easy to compare. Both are built for companies that have a product range to model: a brand brings its 3D products, options and price logic, and the platform shows them to customers on the brand's website and in its shops. Closetforge comes the other way round. It knows one product, the fitted wardrobe, and a workshop sets its own boards and rates rather than modelling anything.

Roomle's two figures: the viewer and the configurator
Roomle's pricing page lists several products, and the two figures most often quoted belong to different ones. The cheapest, the 3D and AR Viewer (Level 1), starts from €100/month, with a 14-day trial; it shows products in 3D and AR rather than configuring them (roomle.com/en/pricing, read 9 October 2026).
Product configuration, which is what a wardrobe with options needs, starts with the "Basic" Variant Configurator (Level 3) from €850/month. It includes 15 product configurators, up to 15 parameters per product, a configuration part list, and price and product-request APIs (roomle.com/en/pricing, read 9 October 2026).
Between and above those, the page lists the Material Configurator (Level 2) from €280/month, the Room Designer from €650/month, the "Full Logic" Modular Configurator from €1450/month with access to the configurator SDK, and an Enterprise level at a custom price. Each plan says "license billed yearly", and the page notes that prices exclude country-specific taxes (roomle.com/en/pricing, read 9 October 2026).
So for a wardrobe maker, the relevant Roomle figure is the configurator one, not the viewer one.
What Roomle Rubens is
Roomle's home page describes Rubens as a 3D commerce platform "combining product customization and room planning", with augmented reality, room design and e-commerce and ERP connections. Its reference customers include Kave Home, MOEBE, Shelved and Wanzl, and its use cases name sofas, bathrooms, shelves and food service (roomle.com/en, read 9 October 2026).
What VividWorks is
VividWorks has a closet configurator page "built for manufacturers and brands selling complex modular closets". It lists real-time 3D design of shelves, drawers, rails, doors and lighting, parametric dimensions, manufacturing rules that prevent invalid configurations, automatic pricing, bills of materials, AR, room planning, and connections to Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and NetSuite. It names customers including Montana, BoConcept, HAY and Lundia (vividworks.com/solutions/closet-configurator, read 9 October 2026).
Its pricing page lists the 3D Product Configurator at Starter €447/month and Pro €847/month, with Enterprise at a custom price; the Pro plan adds modular product support and APIs. The 3D Room Planner is priced separately, from €747/month. Implementation and setup are "scoped separately" on every plan (vividworks.com/pricing, read 9 October 2026).
What Closetforge is
Closetforge puts a finished wardrobe configurator on your own website, under your brand and your domain. A customer designs the wardrobe in 3D in six steps, or describes it to an AI assistant that makes the changes for them. Every change is checked against building rules we have already written for wardrobes, so a design that cannot be built is refused with a sentence that says what to do instead.
When the customer asks for a quote, their phone number is checked with a text-message code, and the server prices the design from your own settings: the boards you buy and what they cost, your waste allowance, your labour minutes and hourly rate, your mark-up, VAT, installation and travel. You receive a customer PDF and a workshop PDF with a cut list, the hardware and accessories, and a cut layout across the boards.
Where they differ
Who models the product. On both platforms, a brand's own products, options and rules are what the customer configures, and implementation is a project. With Closetforge there is nothing to model. The wardrobe, its sections, doors, drawers and fittings are already there, and you set what they cost you.
Where the price comes from. Roomle and VividWorks price from the logic a brand sets up for its range. Closetforge prices each design from a workshop's board costs, sheet usage, labour minutes and rates, which suits a maker who builds to measure rather than selling a catalogue.
Breadth. Both platforms cover many product types, room planning and AR. Closetforge covers wardrobes only.
Connections. Both platforms connect to e-commerce and ERP systems. Closetforge connects to nothing.
Choose them if…
- Choose Roomle if you are a furniture brand that wants one platform across several product types, from a 3D viewer to a modular configurator and room planner.
- Choose VividWorks if you manufacture a modular closet range, sell it through e-commerce, ERP or CRM systems, and have budget for an implementation project.
- Choose either if you need augmented reality or a room planner with your own catalogue in it.
- Choose Closetforge if you build fitted wardrobes to measure and want customers to design on your own website, with each request priced from your own rates and nothing to model.
What Closetforge does not do
- No kitchens. Closetforge handles wardrobes only, by decision. Kitchens, bathrooms, doors and other furniture are out of scope; a quote can carry custom lines for the odd extra.
- CNC output is limited to a MaxCut CSV. The cut list exports as a CSV for the MaxCut panel optimiser. There is no file for a CNC machine and no link to your CAD.
- EU supplier catalogues only. The supplier catalogues we import come from European suppliers. There is no UK merchant price list built in; you enter your own board prices.
- No integrations. It does not connect to ERP, accounting, CRM or e-commerce software.
- No augmented reality. Customers see the wardrobe in 3D in the browser, not placed in their room through the camera.
- No catalogue of your own 3D models. You cannot upload your own products; Closetforge draws the wardrobe from its own rules.
- No customer payments. It sends quotes; it does not take deposits.
