How do I adjust the price, quantity or discount on a fitted wardrobe quote?

Last updated

Closetforge is a white-label 3D wardrobe configurator and quoting tool for fitted-wardrobe makers. The platform prices every quote from your own price list, and this page covers the changes you can make by hand before it goes out.

All of these happen on the quote page under Quotes (/admin/quotes), on a version that has not been sent yet. A sent version is locked, so press New version first if the customer already has it.

Setting the price the customer sees

On the Offer tab the quote editor has two views: Customer quote, which is exactly what prints on the customer's PDF, and Full specification, which lists every row behind it.

In Customer quote, click a wardrobe's price and type the figure you want, for example a round number, or a price you agreed with the customer on the phone. The calculated figure stays beside it with the difference, so a price of 2,282.93 typed as 2,289.00 reads as plus 6.07.

The difference is not hidden. It becomes one Price adjustment row in the full specification, inside that wardrobe's group, so both views add up to the same total to the cent. The customer sees only the new price. Delivery and installation rows take a typed amount the same way.

Two things to know:

  • Regenerate drops the adjustment. It re-prices the design, and the old difference no longer means anything against the new figure. Type the price again on the new version.
  • A wardrobe quoted several times over has no typed price. Its price follows the unit price.

Adding your own rows

Press Add custom row for anything the engine does not know about, such as an on-site adjustment or a fitting you are supplying separately. A custom row has its own label, quantity, unit price, section and VAT rate. In the full specification you can also give a row its own discount, as a percentage or an amount.

A discount on the whole quote

Under the totals, Add a discount takes a percentage or an amount off the whole quote, with an optional reason that is shown to the customer. It cannot be negative and cannot exceed the subtotal. To charge more, add a custom row instead.

Several identical wardrobes

When the customer wants the same wardrobe more than once, for example one in each bedroom, set the number in the Quantity, per wardrobe panel on the Workshop tab. Every price is then for the whole set, and the customer's document prints the count with a price per unit beside it.

Identical wardrobes share board sheets: the panels for the whole set are laid out together, so five wardrobes can need fewer sheets than five times one. That is the only thing that gets cheaper per unit. Fittings, labour and installation count every wardrobe in full.

A quantity change applies the next time the quote is regenerated or saved. A quote already sent stays exactly as the customer received it.

Reading your margin before you send

The Margin chip on the quote opens Margin and discount headroom: your costs by kind, your markups, the risk reserve, the profit, any manual price adjustment and discount, and how far a discount can go before it eats into cost. A line under it says where today's deductions reach: into profit, into the reserve, into the markups, or below cost.

It reads the version's own stored rows and re-prices nothing. Custom rows count at cost. Only you see it; the customer never does.
