What are the ways to sign in to my wardrobe configurator back office?

Last updated

Closetforge is a white-label 3D wardrobe configurator and quoting tool for fitted-wardrobe makers. Your back office lives at /admin on your own site's address, and there are three ways in: a password, a link sent to your email, or a passkey. Two-factor authentication can be added on top. This page explains each, and what to do when a device goes missing.

Password

The sign-in page (/admin/login) asks for your email address and password. Forgot password? sends a link to reset it. You sign in on your own workshop's address; an account belongs to one workshop, and the same email address on another workshop is a separate account.

A sign-in link by email

Press Email me a sign-in link, type your admin email address and press Send sign-in link. If that address has an admin account on this site, a link arrives that signs you in when you open it.

  • The link works once, and only for 15 minutes.
  • It opens on the address you asked from. Opening it somewhere else does not use it up.
  • The page always gives the same answer, whether or not the address has an account, so nobody can use it to find out who works for you.
  • If you have two-factor authentication switched on, you still type your code after the link.

The link is useful on a phone, or when you have forgotten the password and only want to get in.

Passkeys: Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello

A passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, your face or your device PIN instead of a password. It works with Touch ID and Face ID on Apple devices, Windows Hello and Android phones.

Sign in once the usual way, then open Settings → Security (/admin/settings) and press Add a passkey. Next time, press Sign in with a passkey on the sign-in page; on many browsers the passkey is also offered as soon as you click the email field. A passkey is already two factors (the device, and your fingerprint, face or PIN), so no authenticator code is asked for.

Two things to know:

  • A passkey works only on the address it was added on. If your site moves to your own domain, add a new passkey there. Each passkey in the list says which address it is for.
  • Add one only on a device that you alone use. On a shared computer, anyone who can unlock it can sign in as you.

You can hold several passkeys, for example one on your laptop and one on your phone. You are sent an email whenever a passkey is added or removed.

Two-factor authentication

Under Settings → Security, Enable two-factor authentication links an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy. You scan a QR code, type the code the app shows, and then save your recovery codes. They are shown once only, so copy or download them straight away. From then on, a password or email-link sign-in asks for the six-digit code from the app.

When a device is lost

  • A lost laptop or phone with a passkey. Sign in with your password or an email link on another device, open Settings → Security and remove that passkey. It stops working at once.
  • A lost phone with your authenticator app. Type one of your recovery codes where the code is asked for. Each recovery code works once. Then set up two-factor authentication again on your new phone.
  • No access to your email. Your password still works. If you have lost both your password and your mailbox, write to us.
