How do I set up my wardrobe configurator in the first hour?

Last updated

Closetforge is a white-label 3D wardrobe configurator and quoting tool for fitted-wardrobe makers. This article walks through the first hour in your admin: the Today page, the setup guide on it, and what has to be true before you can send a customer a quote.

Where you land

After you sign in, the admin opens on Today (/admin). It answers two questions: what needs you right now, and how the business is doing. The Needs you list counts quotes waiting for your approval, quotes you cannot send yet because something is not priced, customers asking for help, and enquiries whose phone number was never confirmed. Below it are your quote figures and your most recent quotes.

On a new workspace, the top of Today is the setup guide, a card called Set up your workshop with a counter such as "2 of 6 done". The first line, Workspace created, is already ticked.

The six steps

Each row has one sentence and one button that opens a short, focused page. The full admin pages stay one click away from every step.

  1. Your workshop: your legal name, workshop address, logo and colour. They print on every quote, and your workshop postcode is where delivery distances are measured from. The button opens Settings → Company & legal (/admin/settings).
  2. What you build: tick the wardrobe shapes and interior fittings you make (/admin/setup/what-you-build). See What you build.
  3. Your boards: tick the decors you stock and choose the two defaults new designs start in (/admin/setup/boards). See Boards and decors.
  4. Your rates: check the six numbers your prices are built from and confirm they are yours (/admin/setup/rates). See Rates, labour, markups and VAT.
  5. Fittings and terms: give every hinge, runner and handle your designs use a product or a budget (/admin/setup/fittings), then say how customers pay you (/admin/setup/terms). See Fittings and Terms and payment.
  6. Send yourself a test quote: one press builds a quote from your first published design and emails it to your own address, marked TEST. See the test quote.

Can you send a quote today?

That is the question the card answers. A row turns green only when the platform checks the real thing, not when you open the page. If a row is still open, it lists the reasons in plain sentences, each with a link to the page that fixes it. For example: "2 decors your designs use have no priced edge band", or "Your prices still use the starting figures, not yours — check them and confirm."

The checks are the same ones a customer's quote goes through. If the card says your fittings are not priced, a customer quote on those designs would be held back too.

Later, and what it costs you

Every step from 1 to 5 has a Later button. A step you set for later stays in the list, greyed out and marked "Later". Some steps are safe to leave: if you build every shape, pressing Later on What you build changes nothing. Others are not. If you skip Your rates, your quotes are priced on the starting figures we filled in, not yours.

The test quote unlocks when steps 1 to 5 are each done or set for later. If you would rather test with a real customer, press "Skip — I'll test with a real customer"; the row then shows "Not tested" in grey, never green.

When you are done

When every step is done, the card becomes You're ready to quote, with links to open your site and to use your own domain. You can hide the guide at any time with Hide setup guide.

If your workspace was created before the guide existed, Today shows a shorter checklist instead, titled "Finish setting up your workspace". The pages it links to are the same.

Plans and what each includes are on the pricing page.
